i'm back at school, and you know what that means! i'm back to being annoyed by dumbasses in the computer lab. i'm having fantasies of throwing my thermos of coffee in some chick's face that is nearly pornographic in nature. (fun fact! i read an essay about "evolutionary pornography", aka the fact that as humans we tend to get hot under the collar when we see somebody being justifiably punished. i wish i were making this shit up, but they did a study with electrodes and found that the same pleasure centers that get activated during sex also light up when we see someone get what's coming to them. especially in men! neat, huh? so i'm not so much a sadist as a product of my biology. the end.) |

i just got hit by a car, which sounds really dramatic, but there's really no other way of saying something like that. i'm 100% ok, the car wasn't going too fast so i just got knocked back into the street, but JESUS. scariest thing that's ever happened to me. |

today i took a really good id picture, sold two textbooks on alibris (that's $85.00 i didn't have yesterday!), saved at least $10 on groceries because nina's ex-boyfriend rang everything up at $0.99, and took myself out for a snow stroll. this quarter may well be the death of me, so i've got to remember to stop and smile at these things. |

how much do breasts weigh?
this has been a hot button issue in our house as of late. i think it started a few months ago when i came home happy with a new bra i'd purchased on clearance. $10 for the single most flattering undergarment i've ever set eyes upon seems like a pretty fair trade to me. the outrageous thing? it was 75% off, putting it at $40 full price. and that's definitely on the cheap side of things.
the general consensus is that women should own about 10 bras. i own 5, maybe. but bras only last for about a year, which puts even cheapskate me back about $100 a year. and i am of the personal opinion that bras for women with larger breasts cost a helluva lot more than bras for women with smaller breasts. (they're a whole helluva a lot frumpier, too!) not to mention the folks who can get away with just wearing camisoles!
i was watching my new favorite show, how to look good naked, and they said that a pair of "d" breasts weigh 19 pounds. the problem is, they don't cite their sources on the show. grumble grumble. that figure seems a bit high to me anyways, but it's much closer to my perceived breast weight. when we have the "how much to breasts weigh?" fight in our house i always contend that each of my (admittedly volumptuous) breasts seems to weight as much as a small cat. it's a hard thing to measure, though, and i've heard estimates ranging from 5 pounds each to 5 pounds total.
